Exercise Ideas, Anyone?

Besides walking outside, does anyone have any ideas for exercise when you're in a small space?? There isn't really room for an exercise ball or a treadmill in here. What do you guys do to stay active and fit? I'm trying to lose this belly and just generally get in better shape!! It helps that we have a small kitchen, cause we're not buying lots of snacks and stuff (no place to put them). Any ideas are welcome. :) Maybe I just need to invest in a pair of roller skates ... ;)

I will email you this weekend. I've been woking with a trainer/nutritionist. :-)

is your stroller a jogger? running with them is good and it burns even more calories when you're pushing them.

Yoga videos are great too - for toning your sore and increasing strength and flexibility. I started up doing those again this week...

i meant your core - not 'sore'

I don't know how to type on a laptop.

Hey Jenny, I love the pic of Aaron and that sky is gorgeous..nothing says happy times like good weather..If you have stairs in your apartment you should just walk up and down them a few times..its a calorie burner and it works well on the lower body muscles. If you dont have stairs you should get an exercise video that targets cardio like kick boxing or dancing. Let me know what works for you!

Biking as a family? You could get a baby seat for the back and go with Mike. We've wanted to start doing that but don't have bikes for everyone. Aaron is such a cutie! Glad you could find something fun for him to bounce/jump in.

If you want a good workout video for home, get Kathy Smith's Tummy Trimmers. It's an awesome workout for women trying to get their bodies back. It's not aerobics, it's five different 10-minute segments with strengthening exercises. I love being able to change things up by doing different segments each day.

I think all of these ideas are just great. The main thing is to find something that you like and to be consistent.

p.s. Erin ... Hadn't thought to utilize the stairs in our place! What a good idea. A few sets of those a day is easy ...

Rethink driving places. Choose to walk to the library,to get a hair cut, to visit friends, etc. Good for the heart, the spirit, the environment, and it saves gas money. ~Christina in S.P.

I do pilates every morning for 20 mins. It is amazing for your core and can be done in a small space. Get Mari Windsor 20 min workout dvd and once you do it enough you'll memorize the routine! xoxo Mer

...stairs are great, but try taking them 2 and 3 at a time...long lunges for the bum...also, no room to move around with videos...nothing says core like a plank and ole' fashioned push-up. Have Mike show you the "star" pose from the plank, great for the waistline!

Christina, Good to hear from you!! I love walking. Feels so good and burns lots of calories. Good idea to try and incorporate it more into daily activities.
