Game Table

I found this great Checkerboard-top game table at a local antique shop. The vendor knocked quite a bit off the price, making this a steal, especially considering the high-quality piece of furniture it is. It's a fun addition to the home! I love the shabby chic look of it. I think Mike likes it ... even though he won't admit it ;)

Vertical Lines

Yesterday I was reading an article about some of the things that 2-year-olds should be able to do at this age. One of them was that they should be able to draw a vertical line. Not a problem! :)

Lovely isn't it!

Fun Moments

Mike reminded me last night that I need to continue recording precious things the boys say and do. After all, next week they may not be doing or saying these things anymore. So, a couple of cute things Aaron has said recently:

- Yesterday Aaron got right up in Grant's face and said with a smile, "Hi, hi, hi! How are you?" He's been saying, "How are you?" a lot. Too cute.

- Aaron's new favorite movie is "The Jungle Book." As we all know, the movie features the song "I Wanna Be Like You," so obviously this song is in his head, or it sticks with him. He watched the movie a couple of days ago, and later that day he said, "I wanna be like you, mama." I thought it was so sweet, though I thought something like, "there's some pressure!" Then later he said, "I wanna be like daddy."

And A Few More Pics from the Party

I haven't posted pics for awhile, so I thought I'd share a few more.

Leah's Birthday Party

We're so glad we could join in on the fun. Leah turned one on Saturday. Her party involved the following:

Adoring and celebrating the beautiful birthday girl

Opening presents and playing with the presents

Watching David juggle - what an act!

Eating pizza and yummy cake (nice work, Traci!)

And doing a photo shoot of the cousins. Better luck next time! :)

We had so much fun. Happy birthday, Leah! We're so glad we could share your day with you.

Teaching Moments

Last night we had a mini Family Home Evening (I guess they will all be mini for awhile, as long as attention spans are short.) We talked about the love that Heavenly Father and Jesus have for us. In the middle of the lesson, Aaron said, "Jesus loves baby Grant." It was so sweet and tender, and I didn't want to forget that little statement. Then this morning, to reinforce last night's lesson, I told Aaron, "Jesus loves you!" His response? "Jesus loves you, Mama." So, maybe he picked up the concept last night that Jesus loves us all! :)

Aaron Counts; Grant Crawls

Aaron's numbers may be a little out of order, and he leaves one out here and there, but he can eventually get to 11! And Grant is completely on the go. We're making some progress!

p.s. We don't usually have to bribe Aaron to count; he usually does it happily on his own. We were just trying to get some video. :)

Picts from Utah

My Uncle Ed provided these shots that were taken at his house during our visit. Thanks, Ed! It was so great to get together with so many of the Thatchers!

My Aunt Linda crocheted these adorable hats for Aaron and Grant.
